Huston Street: Win and a Hold???

Postby StlSluggers » Thu Aug 28, 2008 3:24 pm

On the 28th, the official scorer gave Street a win in a game where no prior As pitcher was effective. I totally understand that. However, in my league, he was credited with a Win and a Hold, because he entered in a save-situation and left with the lead.

I'm wanting to complain about this, but I'm curious: Did anyone else's league do this, too?

Why would you complain about it? Holds and Wins are not mutually exclusive.

Because it's my opponent. :-D

Anyway, I don't see him being awarded a hold everywhere (above link). Pushing for any help I can get here in H2H playoff time.

Actually, I'm pretty sure they are.

They are mutually exclusive under normal rules and a normal scenario. This was neither.

No, they aren't. A win and a save is, but not a win and a hold.

Previous discussion this season is here.

See the above link to previous discussion. It is up to the stat service on how holds are awarded so that is why there is some inconsistencies across different providers.
