Maryvale, AZ (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Brewers signed centerfielder Scott Podsednik to a one-year deal Thursday.
The 28-year-old Podsednik is coming off a strong rookie campaign in which he batted .314 with 100 runs scored and 43 stolen bases, becoming just the fourth rookie in Major League Baseball history since 1900 to hit .300, steal 40 bases and score 100 runs.
Podsednik finished second to Florida's Dontrelle Willis in last year's NL Rookie of the Year balloting.
Milwaukee also agreed to one-year contracts with pitchers Chris Capuano and Wayne Franklin, and infielder Bill Hall, and first baseman Lyle Overbay.
In addition, pitcher Doug Davis had his contract renewed.
