per ESPN player notes:

Longoria (15-Day DL, wrist) had X-rays taken on Monday to see the progress in his fractured wrist and the news was good. Executive vice president Andrew Friedman told the St. Petersburg Times, "He's going to work his way back into baseball activities, and we should know more at the end of the week as far as next steps."

another quickie from Rotoworld:

Evan Longoria underwent X-rays Monday and Rays executive vice president Andrew Friedman said afterward that his recovery from a fractured right wrist is "progressing well."
According to the St. Petersburg Times, "the Rays are hoping he can return for the Sept. 2-4 series with the Yankees." Willy Aybar has started at third base for all 15 games that Longoria has missed.

Evan Longoria (wrist) played catch and took several swings with a broomstick on Friday.
Longoria does not yet have a timetable for his return. "Could be next week, could be two weeks," he said. His wrist is still too weak to handle the swing of an actual bat. Aug. 30 - 2:23 p.m. ET

Finally off the DL! Not going to start any time soon, but if you're still in the playoffs, he may contribute next week at some point.

Per Yahoo!:

Sat, Sep 6 The Associated Press reports the Tampa Bay Rays have activated 3B Evan Longoria (wrist) off of the disabled list. He said he felt almost 100 percent healthy after 30 swings with a regular bat. "It felt great today," Longoria said.
