I welcome all input, I just signed up for a huge 3 year keeper league that will start in 2009. some quick observations:

ichiro is too high imo - this is coming from someone with ichiro sig.
all closers are way too high.
vlad's on the decline but i still think he's above maggs.
might wanna bump down holliday since he might move out of colorado.
i know ortiz had a down year but that's a harsh plummeting at 56.
bump down ellsbury, his hot start was only a mirage.
aram needs to be bumped up more ahead of chipper, 3B is getting shallow after this yr.
brad hawpe, alexei ramirez (only due to no track record), bump down, figgins, pence bump up.
imo, mccann should be the highest ranked catcher period.

hope that helps.

Still kind of early to be doing this (there's another keeper ranking thread lurking around here too), but I'll help ya. ;-D / :-t = move up/down

In general, you're overrating closers and at times, SP's.

TheGhost76777 wrote:Top 100:
Alex Rodriguez, 3B, NYY
Matt Holliday, OF, COL If Holliday is traded, I just can't see him justified as the #2 ranked keeper. His away splits improved this year but they're still quite bipolar to say that when extrapolated over a full year, he won't be a top 5 player.
Hanley Ramirez, SS, FLA I think Hanley is an obvious 1-2 with A-Rod but that's just me.
Jose Reyes, SS, NYM I'd put Pujols here
Albert Pujols, 1B, STL
Chase Utley, 2B, PHI
Grady Sizemore, OF, CLE I'd drop him down a few spots. Still a first rounder but a late first rounder
David Wright, 3B, NYM ;-D
Ryan Braun, OF, MIL
Miguel Cabrera, 1B/3B, DET ;-D
Josh Hamilton, OF, TEX
Alfonso Soriano, OF, CHC
Johan Santana, SP, NYM :-t He's still top 20 but with pitching so deep, I'd knock him down a couple.
Jake Peavy, SP, SD
Lance Berkman, 1B/OF, HOU
Ian Kinsler, 2B, TEX
Matt Kemp, OF, LA :-t Probably top 30 material but a few guys I'd rather have at this spot than Kemp
C.C. Sabathia, SP, MIL
Brandon Webb, SP, ARZ
Tim Linecum, SP, SF
Mark Teixeria, 1B, LAA ;-D
Carl Crawford, OF, TB
Ichiro Suzuki, OF, SEA :-t
Cole Hamels, SP, PHI
Fransisco Rodriguez, CL, LAA :-t No closer should be taken this high. K-Rod's value is way inflated for a guy who statistically is having a down year.
Ryan Howard, 1B, PHI ;-D Despite his average killing ways the last 2 years, I still think he deserves a bump up.
Prince Fielder, 1B, MIL ;-D Slow start shouldn't deter you from ranking him higher.
Carlos Lee, OF, HOU ;-D He should be close to 100% or at it in time for next year.
Jonathon Papelbon, CL, BOS :-t
Carlos Beltran, OF, NYM ;-D I'd still easily take Beltran over the likes of Ichiro or Cole Hamels.
Carlos Quentin, OF, CWS ;-D Should be top 25 easily
Evan Longorai, 3B, TB
Jimmy Rollins, SS, PHI ;-D Remember the ankle sprain has slowed him down a bit. He regressed but that was really rock bottom for him.
Scott Kazmir, SP, TB
Chad Billingsley, SP, LA :-t Bills' K rate is a nice surprise and though he's improved his pitch efficiency, I don't think he's in the top 35.
Joba Chamberlain, SP, NYY :-t I'd be very very skittish to rank Joba here
Joe Nathan, CL, MIN
Bobby Jenks, CL, CWS
Maggilo Ordonez, OF, DET
Vladimir Guerrero, OF, LAA
Jason Bay, OF, BOS
Nick Markakis, OF, BAL ;-D Should be 10-15 spots higher. The kid has an immense future.
Brian Roberts, 2B, BAL
Alex Rios, OF, TOR
B.J. Upton, OF, TB ;-D I take him over any top closer you ranked higher.
Justin Morneau, 1B, MIN ;-D
Roy Halladay, SP, TOR
Dan Haren, SP, ARZ
John Lackey, SP, LAA
Jermaine Dye, OF, CWS
Manny Ramirez, OF, LA ;-D
Brandon Phillips, 2B, CIN ;-D Needs to be way up there still.
Curtis Granderson, OF, DET
Joakim Soria, CL, KC
Russell Martin, C, LA
David Ortiz, DH, BOS
Erik Bedard, SP, SEA
Matt Cain, SP, SF
Carlos Zambrano, SP, CHC
Clayton Kershaw, SP, LA
Chipper Jones, 3B, ATL
Jacoby Ellsbury, OF, BOS
Dustin Pedroia, 2B, BOS
Aramis Ramirez, 3B, CHC ;-D
Joe Mauer, C, MIN
Dan Uggla, 2B, FLA
Garrett Atkins, 3B/1B, COL
Brad Lidge, CL, PHI
Billy Wagner, CL, NYM
Corey Hart, OF, MIL ;-D No way do I see Hart being ranked this low with the type of year he's enjoyed. Top 30 for sure.
Edison Volquez, SP, CIN
Carlos Guillen, 1B/3B, DET
Geovany Soto, C, CHC
Vernon Wells, OF, TOR
Victor Martinez, C/1B, CLE
Rich Harden, SP, CHC
Ben Sheets, SP, MIL
Daisuke Matsuzaka, SP, BOS
Felix Hernandez, SP, SEA
James Shields, SP, TB
Bobby Abreu, OF, NYY
Derrek Lee, 1B, CHC ;-D
Adam Dunn, OF, ARZ ;-D
Brian McCann, C, ATL
Josh Beckett, SP, BOS
Fransisco Liriano, SP, MIN
Jhonny Peralta, SS, CLE
Alexi Ramirez, 2B/SS/OF, CWS
Shane Victorino, OF, PHI
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, SD ;-D Belongs way up in the top 30 despite the fact the Petco factor has inhibited him
Brad Hawpe, OF, COL
Pat Burrell, OF, PHI
Cliff Lee, SP, CLE
Justvin Verlander, SP, DET
Michael Young, SS, TEX
Derek Jeter, SS, NYY

on the subject of alexei ramirez, i do think he's worthy of being a top 100 keeper, especially since he will likely get SS eligibility along with his 2B. it's just that i don't know much of his past, but i wouldn't argue against keeping him. anyone know what kinda stats he put up in cuba?
