ortiz at 56?!? and you have closers ranked too high. but anyway, i think i remember seeing other ranking threads not too long ago. do a search in this forum and you should find em
ichiro is too high imo - this is coming from someone with ichiro sig. all closers are way too high. vlad's on the decline but i still think he's above maggs. might wanna bump down holliday since he might move out of colorado. i know ortiz had a down year but that's a harsh plummeting at 56. bump down ellsbury, his hot start was only a mirage. aram needs to be bumped up more ahead of chipper, 3B is getting shallow after this yr. brad hawpe, alexei ramirez (only due to no track record), bump down, figgins, pence bump up. imo, mccann should be the highest ranked catcher period.

hope that helps.
yes, thank you. going to look over the list and update it tonight. thanks a lot.
Still kind of early to be doing this (there's another keeper ranking thread lurking around here too), but I'll help ya. / = move up/down
In general, you're overrating closers and at times, SP's.

His away splits improved this year but they're still quite bipolar to say that when extrapolated over a full year, he won't be a top 5 player. 3 Hanley Ramirez, SS, FLA I think Hanley is an obvious 1-2 with A-Rod but that's just me. 4 Jose Reyes, SS, NYM I'd put Pujols here 5 Albert Pujols, 1B, STL 6 Chase Utley, 2B, PHI 7 Grady Sizemore, OF, CLE I'd drop him down a few spots. Still a first rounder but a late first rounder 8 David Wright, 3B, NYM 9 Ryan Braun, OF, MIL 10 Miguel Cabrera, 1B/3B, DET 11 Josh Hamilton, OF, TEX 12 Alfonso Soriano, OF, CHC 13 Johan Santana, SP, NYM He's still top 20 but with pitching so deep, I'd knock him down a couple. 14 Jake Peavy, SP, SD 15 Lance Berkman, 1B/OF, HOU 16 Ian Kinsler, 2B, TEX 17 Matt Kemp, OF, LA Probably top 30 material but a few guys I'd rather have at this spot than Kemp 18 C.C. Sabathia, SP, MIL 19 Brandon Webb, SP, ARZ 20 Tim Linecum, SP, SF 21 Mark Teixeria, 1B, LAA 22 Carl Crawford, OF, TB 23 Ichiro Suzuki, OF, SEA 24 Cole Hamels, SP, PHI 25 Fransisco Rodriguez, CL, LAA No closer should be taken this high. K-Rod's value is way inflated for a guy who statistically is having a down year. 26 Ryan Howard, 1B, PHI Despite his average killing ways the last 2 years, I still think he deserves a bump up. 27 Prince Fielder, 1B, MIL Slow start shouldn't deter you from ranking him higher. 28 Carlos Lee, OF, HOU He should be close to 100% or at it in time for next year. 29 Jonathon Papelbon, CL, BOS 30 Carlos Beltran, OF, NYM I'd still easily take Beltran over the likes of Ichiro or Cole Hamels. 31 Carlos Quentin, OF, CWS Should be top 25 easily 32 Evan Longorai, 3B, TB 33 Jimmy Rollins, SS, PHI Remember the ankle sprain has slowed him down a bit. He regressed but that was really rock bottom for him. 34 Scott Kazmir, SP, TB 35 Chad Billingsley, SP, LA Bills' K rate is a nice surprise and though he's improved his pitch efficiency, I don't think he's in the top 35. 36 Joba Chamberlain, SP, NYY I'd be very very skittish to rank Joba here 37 Joe Nathan, CL, MIN 38 Bobby Jenks, CL, CWS 39 Maggilo Ordonez, OF, DET 40 Vladimir Guerrero, OF, LAA 41 Jason Bay, OF, BOS 42 Nick Markakis, OF, BAL Should be 10-15 spots higher. The kid has an immense future. 43 Brian Roberts, 2B, BAL 44 Alex Rios, OF, TOR 45 B.J. Upton, OF, TB I take him over any top closer you ranked higher. 46 Justin Morneau, 1B, MIN 47 Roy Halladay, SP, TOR 48 Dan Haren, SP, ARZ 49 John Lackey, SP, LAA 50 Jermaine Dye, OF, CWS 51 Manny Ramirez, OF, LA 52 Brandon Phillips, 2B, CIN Needs to be way up there still. 53 Curtis Granderson, OF, DET 54 Joakim Soria, CL, KC 55 Russell Martin, C, LA 56 David Ortiz, DH, BOS 57 Erik Bedard, SP, SEA 58 Matt Cain, SP, SF 59 Carlos Zambrano, SP, CHC 60 Clayton Kershaw, SP, LA 61 Chipper Jones, 3B, ATL 62 Jacoby Ellsbury, OF, BOS 63 Dustin Pedroia, 2B, BOS 64 Aramis Ramirez, 3B, CHC 65 Joe Mauer, C, MIN 66 Dan Uggla, 2B, FLA 67 Garrett Atkins, 3B/1B, COL 68 Brad Lidge, CL, PHI 69 Billy Wagner, CL, NYM 70 Corey Hart, OF, MIL No way do I see Hart being ranked this low with the type of year he's enjoyed. Top 30 for sure. 71 Edison Volquez, SP, CIN 72 Carlos Guillen, 1B/3B, DET 73 Geovany Soto, C, CHC 74 Vernon Wells, OF, TOR 75 Victor Martinez, C/1B, CLE 76 Rich Harden, SP, CHC 77 Ben Sheets, SP, MIL 78 Daisuke Matsuzaka, SP, BOS 79 Felix Hernandez, SP, SEA 80 James Shields, SP, TB 81 Bobby Abreu, OF, NYY 82 Derrek Lee, 1B, CHC 83 Adam Dunn, OF, ARZ 84 Brian McCann, C, ATL 85 Josh Beckett, SP, BOS 86 Fransisco Liriano, SP, MIN 87 Jhonny Peralta, SS, CLE 88 Alexi Ramirez, 2B/SS/OF, CWS 89 Shane Victorino, OF, PHI 90 Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, SD Belongs way up in the top 30 despite the fact the Petco factor has inhibited him 91 Brad Hawpe, OF, COL 92 Pat Burrell, OF, PHI 93 Cliff Lee, SP, CLE 94 Justvin Verlander, SP, DET 95 Michael Young, SS, TEX 96 Derek Jeter, SS, NYY 97 Chone Figgins, 3B/OF, LAA 98 Hunter Pence, OF, HOU 99 Kevin Youkilus, 1B/3B, BOS 100 Milton Bradley, OF, TEX Just Missed: Mariano Rivera, CL, NYY Jose Valverde, CL, HOU Kevin Gregg, CL, FLA Brian Fuentes, CL, COL Johnny Damon, OF, NYY Aubrey Huff, 1B/3B, BAL Carlos Pena, 1B, TB Ryan Ludwick, OF, STL Nate McLouth, OF, PIT Rual Ibanez, OF, SEA Ervin Santana, SP, LAA A.J. on the subject of alexei ramirez, i do think he's worthy of being a top 100 keeper, especially since he will likely get SS eligibility along with his 2B. it's just that i don't know much of his past, but i wouldn't argue against keeping him. anyone know what kinda stats he put up in cuba?
