2008 Draft Class...quickest to MLB?

Postby CT Smash » Fri Aug 22, 2008 9:33 pm

CBS Sportsline just added several of the recent draft class to their database (Alvarez, Matusz, Smoak, etc.) Who are some of the better players that we expect to see in the majors the quickest (maybe Sept 2009 or earlier)?

Asked another way, if you had to name the one "must have" player from the class who is not too far away from the majors, who would it be?

Thanks!

You've pretty much hit on it. It will likely be one of the college players...
Alvarez
Smoak
Matusz
Alonso
G. Beckham
Wallace

...and to say who will be the first up is a complete blind guess because you never know who will acclimate the fastest to being a professional and seeing better pitching/hitting. You don't know if the parent club will want to take it slow with them or rush them. Who will be in front of them on the big club come late '09 or '10? Close your eyes and pick your favorite.... but you likely have the top 3 in your original post. :-)
