Will Broxton Stabilize?

Postby StringerBell » Thu Aug 21, 2008 10:00 am

In the last 14 Days:

*7.36 ERA

*1.77 WHP

*1 Blown Save and 3 Losses

I`m gettin` a little :-o

As Stringer himself would say: Broxton is pitching "Like a 40 Degree Day"

PS: As for LAD closer options: Is it just my imagination or does Kuo seem not as dominant when the game is on the line

Anybody else heard the rumor that Kuo is hurting? He keeps insisting he's fine physically, but he's getting smacked around a little bit recently, and he's already had four shoulder surgeries. Can he last the rest of the season?

the bright side is both kuo and park have been just as bad so i don't think he'll lose the closer job.

Kuo's era, whip and K's per inning have been so sick all year, when I was short a closer a month ago, I started him where holds don't count. Just his last two outings has he blownup. I heard early in the year they were talking about him being a regular starter but they liked him coming out of the pen too much. I think the Dodgers want to keep him in middle relief. I don't see him being a regular closer for them. Does anyone know when/if Saito is coming back?

Saito's throwing off level ground right now; best case scenario (as far as what I've heard) is a September return, but probably in non-closing situations at first.

Broxton looked great last night, striking out Ianetta,Baker and Tulowitzki to get the save.
Hopefully he can string a few of these type outings together. I have Brox cheap for 2009. I really want him to clagrab the closing gig by the huevos.

Everyone is going to have a few rough outtings.

I have been watching all the Dodger games recently and it seems like the bullpen is being used a lot more/more consecutive days then before. This is probably due to Wade and Saito being injured.

When they can actually get a couple days rest they will be good to go again.

Also with Kuo, I hope he isnt hurting. He has had a handful of shoulder surgeries and like 2 Tommy John surgeries.

Weekly linupe league and I really didnt want to play Broxton but decided at the last min to play him. Going into last night I was 13.5 points behind the 1st place guy and in comes Broxton for the Save. Now I'm thinkin all I need is 1 inning, 2 k's and the save and I get the win and I'm tied for 1st. We get 2 points for each inning, 1 point for each K and 10 points for the save.

And what does Brox do.

1 inning, 2 hits, 1 er, 1 walk, 1 k and a blown save.

So to answer your question

NO!!!!! :-t

I think the price on Broxton will continue to plummet and owners will be looking to move their investments into similiar commodities like Jensen Lewis and Luis Ayala.
