18 team Dynasty, H2H points league, weekly rosters. 25 man rosters with 5 MiLB slots Best Record (tied), Points lead between 100-300 since the all star break
Lowrie was my DH the last couple weeks, but I took a flier on Arias this week in that Texas lineup with Lowrie moving to 3B. The last OF spot is mix and match based on matchups.
P- Jenks, K-Rod, Valverde (Capps DL, for right now, activating tomorrow) (Marmol) (Zumaya DL) (Chris Ray DL) Jake Peavy, Matt Garza, Roy Oswalt, Joe Blanton, Dave Bush (Brandon McCarthy) (Homer Bailey)
We start 5 pitchers of any type. I usually go with my three big closers, Peavy, and any two start pitcher from my bench (matchup based). With a points league two-start pitchers on a decent offensive team (Bush, Blanton, Garza) can be very valuable, otherwise Ill take a closer who will usually outscore a 1 start pitcher.
Minor League Roster Mat Gamel, Matt Weiters, Travis Snider, Mike Moustakas Jarrod Parker (Troy Patten)
Upton and Furcal have never suited up for my team. I traded for Furcal when he was supposed to come back the last time (bad call) and dealt Quentin for Upton, Jones and Oswalt a few weeks back when I thought I was out of the playoff picture (was 3 games back in division, but still had points lead).
Yearly 5x5 roto league with some friends. Only 9 teams this year. Havent done all that well in the past... this year I have a frankly ridiculous 25 point lead.
C- Snyder 1B - Texiera 2B - Figgins 3B - Atkins SS - Reyes OF - Hamilton, Dunn, Beltran Ut - Rios BN - Cano, C. Pena
SP - Harden, Kazmir, Volquez, Lackey, Randy Johnson RP - Rivera, Wood, Gonzales, Hoffman DL - Joba, Carpenter
Obviously, a lot of gambles that paid off (Wood, Harden, Hamilton) and some lucky WW work (Volquez). Only move I made that was probably a mistake was trading Adrian Gonzales and his hot start for Dunn, but HR was, and is, my weakest stat and I thought Adrian would cool off sooner than he did.
The fact that I'm sweeping pitching stats despite not taking my first pitchers till rounds 8 and 9 (and losing the second of those, smoltz, very early on) (note: Lackey was a trade) will certainly influence my draft strategy next year.
This team is absolutely cruising to first in one of my 12-team roto leagues (and it's a fairly competitive league). I'm winning the league by 20 points (standard 5x5)

Must have been some impressive trades for you to end up, in a competitive league, with 4 guys who went in the first round of my 9 team league.
