Philip Humber's up in the pen for Minny.

Noticed Chris Carter (BOS) got in the game yesterday and seemed to struggle in the AB, but managed an opposite field single.

They got a speedster in TB, Fernando Perez. I don't know much about him, but he stole 43 bases at Durham while batting .288. Strikes out a ton.

I believe Humber got some time last year for the Mets. Carter is likely a career reserve 1B, especially with Lars Anderson in the Boston farm system. Perez likely would serve a reserve OF with pinch running in his future.

Anybody else?

Yeah, I noticed Humber had some time previously, but thought I'd mention considering he was one of the more noticeable names in the Johan deal.

I realize Lars' projection is higher than Carter's, but Carter's numbers in the minors can't be ignored. .880 OPS in '07, .871 in '08.

I don't know much about Perez only that he's got a lot of flash so I was just throwing that out there. I think it's high time McPherson gets a look.

He already got recalled...

Marlins recalled infielder Dallas McPherson from Triple-A Albuquerque.
McPherson finally makes it back to the majors after hitting .275/.379/.618 with 42 homers in 448 at-bats in the PCL. Playing in Albuquerque definitely helped his numbers, but he's strong enough to hit homers anywhere. The Marlins will use him as a pinch-hitter and give him some starts if they continue to drift out of contention. They'll control him at a minimum salary next year, so they'll want to see whether he's a keeper. rotoworld

Doh! :-B

I had milb.com up and it didn't make it clear there. Checking mlb.com and you're right. Looks like he's doing alright in the early going too.

The Rays will add David Price and Jonny Gomes to their roster on Saturday.
Jeff Niemann and Mitch Talbot are expected to follow on Monday. Price will be available out of the bullpen right away, but he is expected to make at least one start before the season ends, that coming in a Sept. 23 doubleheader.

anyone know of any other big prospects that are supposed to get the call before the fantasy season is over? in my dynasty league we don't have a waiver system so we can add players as soon as they are added to yahoo but next year we are implimenting 1 day waivers to make it more fair so everyone who is out of it is trying to stockpile prospects right now.

anyone know if guys like matt laporta, carlos carrasco, jeremy hellickson are supposed to get the call this sept. none of those guys are on their teams 40-man roster so does that mean they won't/can't get the call? i need pitching help for next year and would love to add carrasco...anyone got any info?
