Noticed Chris Carter (BOS) got in the game yesterday and seemed to struggle in the AB, but managed an opposite field single.
They got a speedster in TB, Fernando Perez. I don't know much about him, but he stole 43 bases at Durham while batting .288. Strikes out a ton.
I believe Humber got some time last year for the Mets. Carter is likely a career reserve 1B, especially with Lars Anderson in the Boston farm system. Perez likely would serve a reserve OF with pinch running in his future.
Anybody else?
Yeah, I noticed Humber had some time previously, but thought I'd mention considering he was one of the more noticeable names in the Johan deal.
I realize Lars' projection is higher than Carter's, but Carter's numbers in the minors can't be ignored. .880 OPS in '07, .871 in '08.
I don't know much about Perez only that he's got a lot of flash so I was just throwing that out there. I think it's high time McPherson gets a look.
