Well...with the Red Sox thus far, he's been absolutely phenomenal, with ballpark effects being quite evident.

However, another very positive note for him has been his 3 SBs since joining the Red Sox--either the organization has asked him to be persistent on the bases, or he's simply caring more.

Either way, he's been awesome for me and I hope he keeps moving up higher in the lineup.

He could easily go 30HR-15SB

In a pretty soft 10 team league, I was able to grab him in the 15th round sandwiched between Joe Borowski and Ken Griffey Jr.

That is HUGE value.

Injuries...which he is obviously past now. Looking forward to next year when he gets a full season of playing in Fenway.

That is HUGE value.

Sox are definitely running more as a team and I think you will see this trend continue next year. With Manny gone, the Sox become more dependent on manufacturing runs rather than just getting on base and waiting for the HR. IMO Bay could very well contribute a 20 SB season next year.

The thing that made Bay a top 20 pick a few years back was his steals. In 2005 he hit over 30 homers, had over 20 steals and hit over .300. The guy is a phenomenal baserunner. He isn't that quick but he knows how to run the bases. Since the start of 2005 he has 46 steals in 50 attempts.

His Slugging% in Fenway is .552
His slugging% as a member of the Red Sox is .561
His Slugging% in PNC was .571

His batting average with the Red Sox is .348.
His batting average in Fenway is .345.

Obviously he is seeing some benefit from playing for Boston, but most it probably coming from the presence of real protection in the lineup (Youkilis, Ortiz, Drew, ect...) and the joy of playing for a contender.

FWIW, I'd rather see your numbers at the end of the year when he's played more than 8 games at Fenway. Too small of a sample size to make statements of that effect.

Maybe Bay was tanking it in Pittsburgh, too.
