wow the dodgers pitching staff is just scary...billingsley, lowe, kershaw, kuroda, now maddux with kuo, ho park, beimel, j. johnson (long reliever), and broxton at the end. that is called depth my friend...not to mention they have other guys in the minors if they need them. if kemp, manram, kent, and loney can keep the offense going and score runs they are going to win the division.

not sure if this is a big upgrade for the dodgers. i guess i'll take maddog but he's going to be more of an innings eater than a crucial starter in the rotation.

LOS ANGELES -- Acquiring Greg Maddux for the stretch run two years ago worked so well for Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti, he's trying to do it again.

With Brad Penny back on the disabled list, the Dodgers were close to acquiring the 42-year-old Maddux on Monday for two Minor League players to be named, although a club spokesman quoted Colletti as saying the deal was not complete.
