yeah, i'd be in a much better position if they had DL'd him when the problem first flared up... they're not contending this year for anything, so their inability to DL a guy they have signed for awhile is borderline idiocy.
I am also like most of you regarding Carlos. Only thing is I am in a weekly lineup roto league. Every game he hasn't played means one more game of lost opportunity. So far, he played one friggin game this week if he is not back today (not likely). I agreed with the DL move, why don't they just move him to the DL?!? Anyway, I have to set my lineup tomorrow and I really could use some advice. I am not going to drop him even though we have a limited bench. But I am thinking of dropping Annibal Sanchez (bench) and moving Carlos to the bench. I will then pick up one of the following FA to fill Carlos spot as a MI.
Clint Barmes Geoff Blum Ronnie Belliard Willie Aybar
My biggest cat concern is HR and RBI so the obvious choices is either Blum, Belliard or Aybar. But I am leaning towards Blum as he is the hottest hitter out of the four. However, he is scheduled for 6 games next week 3 @ Wrigley and 3 @ Colorado. So good ballpark to hit in, the only problem with the Cubs games are he will be facing Harden and Dempster. Also he doesn't have good career numbers at both Wrigley and Coors.
Any suggestions as to who I should pick up to replace Carlos? Or should I just leave Carlos in and hope he comes back? Thanks for your suggestion!

Think you are still thinking of last year's Carlos. The guy had one 1 RBI in the last ten games ... when he did play. Would've tossed him into the trash pile if I didn't draft him so high. Starting Prado at MI until he can play more than 4 games a week.
Injured infielder Carlos Guillen remained day-to-day, and Leyland didn't sound particularly enthused when asked if he'd be ready to play soon. "I'm not a doctor, and I don't know when to expect him to be able to play," Leyland said. "The update is, he's not ready to play."
Got that MLB.com. If any of you guys are in weekly lineup, get him out of your starting lineup if you can. Doesn't sound like he'll be back this week especially with the Tigers pretty much out of it.
I really feel they are treating him poorly. He's gonna go out there every day they ask no matter what, cause he's a pro,but I'd think at some point he will have an internal conflict about his love for the game and wondering if the Tigers deserve his best.
Maybe his pride will get him through this, but it shouldn't be like this, it's just a mess. He's hurt in a couple ways, he has the thing with his wife and this season is over for Detroit.
Put him on the DL out of respect and let the man go home!
He'd come back next year all healthy and appreciative, what's so hard to see about this?
without knowing all the facts, I''d have to agree with you, the tigers would only benefit from shutting him down for the rest of the year... and then I could drop him off my team without stress!
