With yet another multi-HR performance last night, I have to say I am more than shocked at how well Kevin Youkilis has performed this year. He's had hot starts before, but never carried them this far into the season. He's just about on pace for a .315-100-30-110 season, which I never would have expected out of him.
Is this a case of natural (expected) progression or is Youkilis just playing way over his head? Has he reached the absolute peak of his performance at age 29 or could he actually continue to improve even more over the next couple of years?

I doubt even Youk knows the answer to that question. My guess is that he'll be drafted too high next year for me to get him and that he'll probably underperform his draft spot, of course, that's pure speculation.

His third base eligibility, in addition to those numbers, make him valuable, but i would not expect more than .300-100-20-90 next year.

The difference is everything about Youk's game has exploded this season. Where as Lowell only improved in BA and Rbi production.

Lowell is also older and has had injury problems.
