H2H playoff preparations

Postby Bwanna » Wed Aug 13, 2008 10:35 am

...anybody doing anything in particular to prepare their team for the playoffs? ...is there anything that _can_ be done at this point, assuming your trading deadline is past?

Called each player on the phone and offered them bonuses for finishing off the season strong. ;-D All were very receptive to my needs and fully understood that I need big time fantasy stats from them during the playoffs, so I'm feeling quite good about my chances now after speaking with each one individually. :-)

I'm doing a 1980s rock music montage of running up hills and punching cow carcasses. ;-D

I have a different approach. I called each of them up when they're doing bad, and tell them if they don't smarten their acts up, they're going to end up on the bench, or worse dropped! I really lay into each of them. I don't put up with bullcrap. If you slump your dumped. Thats that. No exceptions! I had mixed results. Tejada is really starting to hit a bit better now. But maybe it wasn't the right approach with Nolasco. And Harang, he didn't handle it well at all. I had to dump him.
