What do the Tigers need Barry Bonds for? They are 2 games under .500, and 8 games back of a playoff spot.

Didn't know a team had to have a certain record or be a certain distance from a playoff spot with almost two months to go to take a chance on a league-minimum free agent.

What would be the point? Detroit's season is over. If they were going to do something with Bonds, they should have done it months ago.

that's the rumor i heard on Monday...i'd imagine the Tigers would have to agree to pay a large portion of his salary

If Detroit pay half of next season's salary, Oakland should give him a crack.

Might recycle him into a couple of draft picks, you never know. :-S

I have always been under the impression that you do not know who is on waivers unless someone puts in a claim?
