Yeah I just heard the same thing, they just broke the news during the Mets game. It's for a minor leaguer named Dallas something or other, who was once a big time prospect but he's recovering from tommy john so the reds are takin a flyer on him. Theres also 2 minor leaguers to be named later.
July 4th, 4:51 pm: Big Pelf is going to be an all out star...Pick him up before someone else does.
According to the radio station, the Reds will receive pitching prospect Dallas Buck and two players to be named later. A 2006 third-round pick who returned from Tommy John surgery in June, Buck has a 3.55 ERA and 28/11 K/BB ratio in 50 2/3 innings at Single-A. MLB.com confirms that the Diamondbacks have claimed Dunn off waivers, but reports only that the two sides "are close to working out a deal" for the impending free agent.

The Diamondbacks will now have three of the top five strikeout leaders in the National League. Mark Reynolds is second with 147 and Chris Young is third with 122.
Yea, be sure to start your pitchers when playing the dbacks. So will Dunn's production increase or decrease, I assume he'll be batting 4-5 in that lineup, I think he'll have slightly better stats, the ballpark shouldn't hurt him too much, think it's about 15 feet difference in right between Cincy and Arizona.

Chase Field is ranked 1st as the most hitter friendly park as of August 10th in the 2008 season.
PF = ((homeRS + homeRA)/(homeG)) / ((roadRS + roadRA)/(roadG)) Rk Park Name Runs HR H 2B 3B BB 1 Chase Field (Phoenix, Arizona) 1.244 1.106 1.124 1.333 1.667 0.976
18Great American (Cincinnati, Ohio) 0.953 1.165 0.968 0.987 0.919 1.004
I'm thinkin you'll see a nice, hefty increase in production.

One thing I don't like about PF is the massive fluctuations that occur from year to year.
GAB is 17th this year, 7th last year, 1st in 2006, 19th in 2005,
I doubt the ballpark will affect Dunn one way or another. Both are good hitters parks. It's not like he moved to a pitchers park in the AL.
