I would not say he is a must have if you need an outfielder by any means but he is worth a look

I'm not sure if they'll bring up Cruz or not. He hasn't shown he can hit big league pitching at all (always lights up the minors and hits ~mendoza in the show) and I'm not sure he has any more options left if they bring him up. With Murphy, Hamilton and a happy Milton (I'm assuming he'll resign here) I kinda hope they leave Cruz in the minors and trade him for a decent pitching prospect myself.
Now that I said that they'll probably call him up today or something, but I don't think Byrd loses significant at-bats whether they call up Cruz or not. I'm still not sure Byrd can keep up his current pace, but if you're in a deep league and he's a FA he could be a solid #4 OF for you.

Cruz was already optioned to the minors this year and the option is for the entire year (it doesn't matter how many times he goes up and down). He might be a MiLB FA at the end of the year unless he's on the 25 man I think (not totally sure if he's out of options). so they might not be able to trade him.
