This sucks, I just picked him up since he has made 3 decent starts. 2 innings later he leaves the game with the injury.

This raises another question. If Carp ends up missing extended time or in worst case scenario, the rest of the season, do they shift gears and put Wainwright on track to come back as a SP?

It will be interesting what news comes from the Cards over the next couple of days.

Earlier this season Lackey and Slowey went down with biceps/triceps injuries and came back pitching well. Of course they were out for around a month (slowey a little less and Lackey a little more IIRC).
