Crawford on 15 day DL

Rays placed outfielder Carl Crawford on the 15-day disabled list with a right hand injury.

Crawford said he felt a pop in his hand during his final at-bat of Saturday's game. If he has ligament damage, then he could miss at least a month and possibly the rest of the season. Right now, he's optimistic that he'll be back when his 15 days are up. Gabe Gross will be a regular outfielder for now. Rocco Baldelli was activated in Crawford's place and will also see considerable playing time. Aug. 10 - 2:09 pm et

Man what a weekend for injuries..... I was just about to inquire about Crawford, in one of my leagues where I lost Carlos Lee, OUCH, this is a tough blow to the Rays.....(don't they wish they went the extra mile for Jason Bay, now)

Man, I just lost Lee and Crawford in the span of a day. That's gonna hurt. Thankfully my league is real shallow, so I managed to get a guy like Victorino, but still, I've lost 28 homers and 100 RBI in Lee and now Crawford as well.

Sucks to see him gone, probably for the rest of the Fantasy Season. From a real-life perspective, I hope this doesn't cue the end of Tampa Bay's season. I'd love to see Boston and New York watch Tampa-friggen-Bay in the playoffs.

wow, even though Crawford has underperformed all season, this really hurts (especially if he's out for the season). I lost C. Lee the other day too. I still have Soriano and Wells (who just came back today) - but how reliable are they?

even before this weekend i had been dealing with injuries. Bourn, Hairston, Bradley, Harang. atleast Harang was actually placed on the DL unlike the others who just wernt playing. now this weekend i lose Crawford and Orlando Hudson :(
i do have 2 DL spots in my league, so i can DL Crawford, along with Ryan Church who i picked up this weekend ..and i guess if Hudson is done for the season i can drop him.

hopefully Crawford is only out the 2 weeks.

I think Marlon Byrd could be a good replacement. Obviously not for people looking for steals, but otherwise he's owned only in about 23% of ESPN leagues, and he has been playing behind Young and Hamilton in Texas in the 5-hole and doing real well. I think I'm going to take a chance on him.

What is it about Crawford and Lee being paired on so many rosters? I just lost both of them too in my h2h keeper league. I've got a 20 game lead in first place but this is really going to hurt my playoff chances...

I'm in the same boat but w/ a 10 game lead in 1st. The pairing might be b/c of how the ADP of both players worked out, plus they both seem to contribute in different areas. I drafted Crawford for stls, Rs and Lee for RBI
