In case you didn't see the parade - Mayor Bloomberg declared Wednesday March 3 Hideki Matsui Day in NYC.

Does anybody else have a hang-over?

My favorite Matsui day tradition is pulling some Carp out of the east river and making California Rolls with it thinly sliced.

I read somewhere today, That ideally, they are hoping that the Matsuis' will actually increase tourism in NYC.

But "Matsui Day" is a little over the top. That is almost as stupid as feeding a baseball, a "Steak and Lobster" dinner before blowing it up.

I have no problem with the destruction of the Bartman ball. I think things like that add a nice angle to baseball traditions.

But Matsui Day? Appears to be a lame marketing ploy. :-t

I may be byast Jonny ("sushi peeps") black but I prefer my fish without the third eye. (btw no fish in California rolls).

My favorite Matsui Day tradition has alway been getting pissed on Asahi beer, dressing up like Mothra and scaring the neighbourhood children. Ohhh good times...good times...
