Pretty happy w/ my Yahoo autodraft team

Postby mpriley » Thu Mar 04, 2004 3:02 pm

Standard Yahoo 5x5 12 team league.

Let me know what you think:

C A. Pierzynski
1B J. Giambi
2B M. Loretta
3B E. Chavez
SS K. Matsui
OF M. Ramirez
OF J. Edmonds
OF S. Podsednik
Util M. Lowell
BN J. Gonzalez
BN H. Matsui
BN R. Klesko

SP J. Vazquez
SP B. Webb
RP B. Wagner
RP J. Isringhausen
P R. Nen
P B. Looper
P J. Beckett
BN G. Meche
BN A. Burnett

The only moved I've made to this point is dropping J. Spivey for Loretta, but that's probably pretty much a wash.

Reasonably good team, with some solid bench players. Nice pitching staff.
Another Year, Another Championship. I'm 2 for 2.

I know there is a separate forum for this, but...

Joe Mauer is available in my league, and I was thinking of grabbing him, but I don't know who to drop. Would you drop Pierzynski and go with Mauer as your only catcher, or do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks

It's a good team. Solid. No holes, assuming that Matsui steals at the pace we expect.

I wouldn't drop Pierzynski for Mauer. No way. If you want Mauer, I'd try a 2 for 1 trade and try to pick up a better OF or 2b. Something like a pitcher and Pods for a top notch OF.

But Pierzynski will outperform Mauer this year. Next year, all bets are off.

Thanks for the advice. I just offered a trade where I give up Looper and H Matsui for J. Kent. That would give me a pretty incredible infield, and I think I can spare the closer.
