After probably the best 3 month span in his career over April, May and June he seemingly hit a brick wall in July. Despite the fact that he's still drawing walks and stealing bases, he's hurting fantasy teams more than helping them right now IMO. A slowdown from his amazing start should have been expected, but nothing like this.
His power is just gone. His SLG and ISO have been nosediving lately and I have yet to see a significant sign of a turnaround in that department. Its been going on long enough that I think it's something fantasy owners should be concerned about. I don't know if he's hiding an injury or something of that sort, but I'm starting to think something's up.
Yet he's still an elite hitter and since everyone has their highs and lows I'm not trying to suggest that he's not still going to be an asset in fantasy leagues down the stretch. I'd say if you can get a top 25 fantasy player for him you should probably take it, but if not then get him on your bench and ride out the slump. He's bound to bust out of it eventually.
