Ok I missed that one, but looking at the stats it wasn't his fault. The defense let the team down. 3 of those runs were unearned. If Renteria doesn't boot the ball or whatever he did Zumaya would have saved the game.

no...they demoted him and then he piped up about the injury, but i do agree he'll get another crack at it

yeah, i have no idea what to think of Lieland anymore...he thinks Zumaya needs to play in the instructional league this year to work on his curve...i dont think that's been the same since he blew out his finger

i'm starting to hope they groom this kid as a starter

True about the timeline, but that'd be quite a coincidence. 24 hours after the new closer announcement, talk radio is all over Jones' sore shoulder.

- From http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti ... 10386/1050

The Tigers placed Todd Jones on the disabled list Thursday with shoulder inflammation, an injury that bothered him during the recent decline that cost him the closer's job.

After Jones was placed on the DL, manager Jim Leyland said he had suspected for two weeks that something was amiss with Jones' arm.
