Yeah, he was facing a good hitting lineup last night so I'm not surprised he got roughed up but you have to wonder if he's really healthy or not. He's sitting on my bench for now - after the McGowan debacle I'm not taking any chances with Toronto pitchers and their health concerns.
It's not looking too good schedule-wise either. While his next start is slated to be at home against Oakland, he then would be scheduled to pitch @ Detroit, @ Boston, vs. Boston, @ TB.
I dropped him this morning. It may have been a little premature but knowing that no one in my league will trade anything for him and knowing that my pitching staff is loaded, I went with my gut and moved on.
He looks nothing like the pitcher he was before, but he was certainly due for some regression. I honestly don't know what to expect from him the rest of this season.
I had him pegged as a real sleeper early on. Drafted him in the 2nd last round in all 3 of my drafts. It looked like the golden pick b/f his injury. Now I don't know whether he's worth the roster spot. Its ashame.
"When I knocked a guy down, there was no second part to the story."
I'm not expecting much the rest of this year. Since the door is just about closed on my playoff chances, I need this guy to get healthy and get back to the real Marcum for next year.
I can't trust him right now, but I wouldn't be so quick to get rid of him. As long as he's healthy I think he can be effective. But that's the million dollar question. I don't trust what the Blue Jays say anymore, so we'll just have to wait and see. If he gets lit this week, against a weak Oakland team, then I'll start thinking about cutting him.
I decided to stick with him and I actually put him in my starting lineup for the first time since his injury and it certainly paid off . His numbers were obviously impressive, but I wasn't able to catch the game so I wanted to know how he looked..... did anyone catch the game?

It was just the Oakland A's, though.
Maybe they brought him back too quickly? If I remember correctly he only had 1 rehab start, so maybe he was still trying to get his feel/arm strength back....
