I've had Matt Cain all season, and I've been pretty satisfied with his production. The time to buy low has already passed.

I've had Matt Cain all season, and I've been pretty satisfied with his production. The time to buy low has already passed.

I agree that the time to buy low has already passed, but I wasn't satisfied with:

4.41, 29/23 K/BB in April
4.35 ERA in May
4.60 ERA in June

out of a guy that I had ranked in the Top 20-25 SP.

K/BB in May and June were solid, though.
Anyway, I'm glad to have him for my stretch run into the playoffs now.

Cain has been a disappointment for me this year. I really thought he would step up to be a top 10 pitcher along with Lincecum. However, he is still very young and should break out soon. I like him again for 09.

I will always like Cain as he seems to be a perpetual bargain come draft day. I don't think he has a unlimited celiing like Lince, but it's still very high nonetheless. He has showed incremental gains in his first few seasons and he's still only 23 . Cain will probably have a Cy Young calibur season in him at some point, whether the voters recognize it or not might be a different story though.

I've had Cain for a few seasons in my dynasty. Seems like it's the same every year, he starts the year poorly and finishes strong. He's still very young, though. I would think that we would be seeing a break out soon.

Good list. I'd probably drop Sanchez, Maholm and Baker as I think they will all be over-valued next season and add Buchholz.

Right now I'm thinking about Chieng Ming Wang. He's going to be severely undervalued with a low draft position due to being out for so much of the season. Could be a nice pick up for sure.

The problem is that he's not a very big strike out pitcher, so that hurts his value some. He's always a good source of wins though.

I will always like Matt Cain for "next year".

All the fuss is going to be on Price, but to play devil's advocate I'll drop two other Rays: Jackson and Sonnanstine. Should make for a great spring training competition...
