So, I figure I am all but out of the playoff race this year. In attempting to rebuild for next year and beyond, I have been shopping around veterans such as Rowand, Winn, Duchscherer, etc. A manager in dire need of SP help has inquired about my big three of Johan, Maine, and Duchscherer. He has Porcello and Wade Davis on his farm, and has stated that either of them could be available for one of my big three.

Now, I have told him that it would take HanRam to land Johan, and he immediately moved away from targeting him. I then told him it would take someone like Porcello (+ some) to land either Maine or Dook, and he basically stated that that was an option he would consider. While Maine has struggled of late and has injury concerns, he is still relatively young and has a bit of potential left in him. On the other hand, while Duchscherer had an extremely good minor league track record as a starter and is still only 30 years old, the fact that he hasn't pitched over 96 innings in a single season since 2003 has me scared that his injury-proneness will eventually poke its ugly head.

This leads to my first question: out of Maine and Duch, who would you rather trade away in a dynasty? My gut tells me Dook, simply due to age, the fact that he is injury-prone, as well as the sudden jump in the number of innings he is all of a sudden racking up on his body. However, Dook has shown that when healthy, and given the chance to start, he can compete among the best in the league.

My next question: if you do think it would be start to sell high on Dook or sell off Maine, what other position might you try to target/upgrade? I was thinking Uggla might be a good upgrade for both youth and power at 2B over Hudson. I would take a hit in AVG, but with Holliday, Morneau, and LaPorta on board, I feel I could make up for the loss. Maybe Duchscherer/OHudson for Uggla/Porcello?

Please help me determine if trading off Maine or Duchscherer is worth landing Porcello, and if so, come up with an offer. Thank you for your help in advance, and feel free to leave a link. I will absolutely help in return!
