good call on Lillibridge. Yunel Escobar seems to be in his way, though.
ive heard a few rumors where the braves would trade him (lillibridge), and also, escobar can play a few different spots, as can kelly johnson. if lillibridge impresses, they could shift some things around for him.
Moustakas is in low-A. How in the heck is he going to be in the majors next season?
And it's not like he's totally mashing down there with a .758 OPS either. He's a good prospect, but I don't think he'll be up until late 2010 at the earliest.
I also don't think that Alcides or Elvis make an impact next season (maybe late in the season), but they are the cream of the crop at SS. Because there isn't much coming up next season that will make an impact.

And I've heard plenty of chatter that he wouldn't even end up as a SS, too.
I actually played against Moustakas in summer ball - certainly the smoothest SS I'd ever seen. We didn't make much contact off their pitcher (who was also drafted but I forget his name) so I don't know how much range he has...but it will be cool to see him make it up.
EDIT: Pitcher's name was Scot Moviel - he's in the Mets organization now - he's like 7'0" tall.
Now that I found the roster - that team was amazing.

Todd Frazier could see time soon. He's currently playing SS but he might not stay there. Still, the former Rutgers player is quite polished and could bring a lot of power to the position.

That's just speculation. The same was said about Lowrie and probably a half dozen other MLB shortstops. But he's at least 2 yrs away (probably more) regardless of what position he plays.
A couple of other guys (not prospects anymore) are Alexi Casilla who played plenty of SS in the minors (depends on who else is in the Twins MI next season) and Alexei Ramirez if Cabrera leaves after this season.

Ramirez has pretty high ownership numbers, but yeah, he might get moved to SS. OF course the White Sox could also go after a free agent SS, since its not like they have a decent 2B replacement for him. I love him, having banked him in my rookie/Milb draft this year.
Couple other guys I forgot, Hu, who could wind up the starter in LA if Furcal leaves as a free agent, was highly regarded before struggling this season in limited at bats, and De Jesus, also in LA, who has been the best SS in their system this year.
There isn't a chance in this great wide earth that Moustakas will be even in AAA next year. I'd guess he'll start in High A and then get moved to AA if performing well.....I doubt he'll even make it to AAA next year. I'd be happy just to see him in AA next year personally.
