Farnsworth was killing the Yankees bullpen.

Okay, he's been okay recently, but I doubt that would last. The guy is a gas can and I will not miss him. It will be interesting to see Pudge in pinstripes. He brings some veteran leadership behind the plate as Posada is now done until next spring. Surprised the hell out of me though.

Anyone see a possibility of Farnsworth closing games for the Tigers?

lol, Farnsworth fits perfectly with Zumaya and Rodney. Another guy with electric stuff that can't produce.

This is anunquestionably good deal if the Yanks are working another deal to add a decent 7th inning arm by tomorrow. Marte is better than Farnsworth as set-up.

Veras is the 7th inning guy and has been for a while with Edwar Rameriz also pitching a little bit in that spot. The Yankee bullpen is quite deep. They don't need to trade for anyone else.

I actually like this trade for the tigers. Of course ESPN is going to say "future hall of famer" thousands of times tonight, but Pudge has not been very good for about 2 years now. The tigers need bullpen help much more than they need an every other day catcher. It's kind of sad to see him go because he was the beginning of the turnaround for Detroit, but the trade makes sense.

Colin Cowherd is sitting at home, thinking, "Yup, this is the Yankees Way." Hopefully he'll talk about it tomorrow so ACS will have something to explode over.

As far as Pudge's value and the trade, obviously a great deal for the Yankees. Pudge is hitting nearly .300 and should do well in that lineup. And at the same time getting rid of Farnsworth? Yahtzee.
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.

Farnsworth is the antithesis of bullpen help, have fun. :-)

Compared to Todd Jones, Farnsworth looks like the future hall of famer.
