Why is Samardzija being so heavily added?

I think Yahoo! had Samardzija on their Front Page not too long ago and claimed he was the next big thing. I believe that article had something to do with him being added like Max Scherzer. I'm in the non-believer camp.

The Shark obviously has some nice potential, but I do not see much value for him this season. I would obviously love to see him do very well, but would only look at him in a dynasty with a minor league system or really deep bench.

i have a feeling the cubs are eventually going to use him like the yanks have with joba. his stuff is nasty, but like most of the others, i doubt he has much value this year. he also needs to work on his control.

i for one am glad to see it. the guy with the #1 waiver used it on him so now i'm in 1st place and hold the #1 priority..nothing to stand in my way of David Price.

You should see my league, everyone is a Cubs fan. One guy added him and two others posted "YOU BASTARD" on the message board. All the while I'm sitting here with WW pickups Kemp, B. Wilson, B. Molina, Bills, Marcum, and Giambi.....just laughing.
