Reports are they think he's being traded probably for tex.

Wow... I wonder what they are giving up for Teixeira. If they get him for Kotchman straight then I'm going to be pissed.

Angels first baseman Casey Kotchman was pulled off the field during pregame warmups this afternoon at Fenway Park. And there are strong indications he is about to be traded to the Braves for Mark Teixeira, according to a source with knowledge of those discussions. Details are still being finalized, and additional, lesser names are expected to be involved. But Kotchman for Teixeira is the core of this deal.

As an Oakland fan, I'm really really hoping this doesn't work out for the Angels. I've given up on the division this season, but I don't want them to have a player like Teix end up resigning here. :-o

My guess is that maybe they have to get Tex to sign now in order for the trade to go through. Doesn't that happen sometimes?

I don't think he will negotiate. Just my hunch.

Is he a free agent this year or next? I guess if its this year then yea he wouldn't do that.

I don't think Tex will negoiate, but I think Angels should at least be one of the few teams that can sign him. As an Angel fan I hope this goes through. Losing Kotchman hurts but getting back Tex is priceless, not to mention even if he leaves you get 2 1st round picks back.

The Angels are finally going to make the big trade at the deadline after the last few years sitting still. I wonder what else the Angels are throwing in?
