The only person who has personally attacked anybody is Yoda...but hes proved its pointless and impossible to argue with him so just forget it, its not worth it.
Of all the Manny moments in Boston, the last ranks as one of the most confounding. Within an hour after Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein informed Manny Ramírez he had been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers Thursday, Ramírez's agent, Scott Boras, called the Sox back, according to a source with direct knowledge of the negotiations. If the Sox dropped the option years on his contract - which they had agreed to do if they traded him - Boras said Ramírez would not be a problem the rest of the season.

It is so sad how clueless you are.

Lmao. What did I say??
I have no idea whether this happened or not. But, based on his erratic behavior, would this really surprise you? Or is it just easier to believe that this is some sort of calculated conspiracy involving Peter Gammons, millions of Red Sox fans, NESN, WEEI, the organization itself, etc.?

I don't find this surprising at all. Clearly this entire situation was all about Manny becoming a FA at the end of the year. That's what he wanted, and that's what he eventually got.

Funny how a Jays fan has the voice of reason in this thread....

The vote was 23-1. The story was reported by sports anchor Mike Lynch on WCVB Channel 5 in Boston. They also posted it on the the Channel 5 sports blog: http://www.thebostonchannel.com/sportsblog5/index.html . That took me three minutes to Google.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

If the vote did occur it appears to have been an informal vote between the players. I did some searching, I didn't find much, it may have been speculation...more about "team insiders" telling reports what is going on.
A team insider told Lynch that 24 Red Sox players favored getting rid of Ramirez, while only one player wanted to keep him on the roster.
