What do you guys think of Damien Jackson, 2B for the Rockies? Is he worth a roster spot?
I know the position is up for grabs right now, but Jackson is not only playing in a hitters park, but he is a stolen base machine.
If he got regular playing time, I think he might be quite a sleeper, at least worth a backup 2B role. What do you guys think?

I could see him being a good sleeper pick. And since he is also a good utility player (plays OF & IF) he may get his at bats.
The only thing I don't like about him is that he doesn't have a lot of power or walk much. Sure - coors may up his OBP by 100 points, but that's still only around "average" level.
Think Juan Uribe or Mark Bellhorn's stats combined from last year - plus 20 stolen bases. That would be .270 avg, 72 runs, 59 RBIs, 32 steals. And that's IF he gets the starting job.

If you miss out on the top 2B in a league over 10, Jackson might be worth a flyer just on the possibility that he Steals 30 from a weak position. But get a back-up just in case he doesn't get the job. Or better yet make Jackson the back-up, If your stuck with a weak 2B.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. -Crash Davis
Stewie : [watching a baseball game] Why does that man drop his club before he runs? I would bring it with me!

I'm hearing Aaron Miles has the 2B job.
