Just an update on Carlos Gomez' injury status from tonight's game. He was injured leaping and making a spectacular catch off Ben Francisco's bat in the 1st inning. He crashed into the wall and obviously hurt himself. He lay on the field motionless for a while before being carted off with his neck immobilized and secured on a stretcher. I just saw the following positive update:
Carlos Gomez rejoined the Twins on Friday night after being hospitalized with a back injury and receiving an injection for the pain.
Fantasy spin: Gomez, who was taken off in a neck brace and on a stretcher, was cleared by doctors to play as soon as he feels he's ready. It may be a few days, but it seems as though he has a good chance of avoiding the disabled list.
