I wasn't going to say anything but since a a person who actually knows baseball is asking I'll ask too. :-D

What the heck is going on there? Looks like a standard pitch and strike...no? :-?

Maybe something to do with the kids in the background playing rock, paper, scissors?

I dunno....is it dangerous somehow? :-S

Way outside. Clearly a ball...except that Hanley swung at it.

It doesn't matter. I'm sure someone will check off "made me laugh (and wasn't a canned joke)"...

It's Mark DiFelice's only pitch, an 82 mph cutter that's more dangerous than most 100 mph fastballs. Somehow opposing batters swing at 46% of his pitches outside of the strike zone. That's 20% above league average and 10% above second place in the category. Struck out 26 guys in 28 innings so far this year.

Article: DiFelice’s single, slow and unhittable pitch

Oh OK, that makes sense now. It IS the most dangerous pitch in baseball. ;-D

Gotcha. I'm so used to looking for something subtle, sometimes the obvious misses... :*)

I have read about DiFelice and his pitching renaissance this season. That is a filthy pitch... :-°

Awesome. ;-D I've read a few articles about that pitch but I've never actually seen it. It looks just as nasty as it was described.

And I would've completely overlooked it if you hadn't mentioned his name. I assumed the gif was for the two kids in the background who look to be playing rock-paper-scissors. :-?
