J. Fields called up

Postby kid sox » Fri Jul 25, 2008 5:14 pm

CWS called up Fields to replace Crede who was put on the DL. He has power but projects for a low batting average. I've also read where his defense is subpar so I wonder how much playing time he would get.

Does anybody have a read on how Ozzie plans to use him? I'm in a AL-only league, would people drop J. Rivera or J. Lowrie who comprise my bench? I like Lowrie a bit since he is muli-positional (SS & 3B) in Yahoo.

I don't see anyone else playing 3rd base, other than Fields, while Crede is gone. The only other option would be Ozuna, but I don't think that he's even in the majors right now.

josh fields is one of my minor leaguers (from last season, still reserved) and i am going to wait it out a week or two. crede is done, he will not play 3b for the sox again and nobody is in fields way. he will be getting full time AB's. josh has allot of HR potential but tends to strike out too much. if you have a whole bunch of high avg infielders then why not give him a shot because he might reward you big time in HR's/RBI's.

if you are in a keeper league, fields will carry allot more value than rivera and lowrie.

hope that helped!
