I'm not a huge Cubs fan but I like them alright and I'll root for them over a lot of other teams.

I'd love to see Cuban buy them. Imagine the players he would put on the field.

If Cuban had a hold of the Cubs last year, they might've seen a Derrek Lee / Alfonso Soriano / Aramis Ramirez / Alex Rodriguez infield.
Even though Soriano is highly unlikely to play 2B ever again, it's something that me and a die-hard Cubs fan of a suitemate gawked at.

The Mavericks almost won an NBA Title just recently, so I'm not sure that's such a bad thing, provided he has strong stat and baseball minds on his staff. The #1 thing an owner can do in the MLB is spend money, and Cuban is more than willing to, so I can't imagine him being a bad owner... I just don't see it... he wouldn't be handcuffed by a cap like he is in the NBA.

Plus, he'll actually care about winning, as opposed to other owners whose first thoughts would be to stay far away from big contracts.

Good owner = an owner willing to spend money on payroll and player development
