First off, I can't believe Moyer is 45 yrs old now, turning 46 in November. I love baseball, Moyer at 45 years old has 11 quality starts this season, 9-6 record, 73/34 K/BB on 120 IP with 3.90 ERA and 1.36 WHIP. 45 YEARS OLD with those numbers, that's good stuff.
What the over/under on years left before he retires, forced or not? I'll guess he pitches 2 more years but I hope he makes it 5 so he's pitching at 50.
Then I'll call my dad up and say: "Hey Dad, remember when you asked why can't I be more like David Wright. I bet he bought his dad a house? You can't even make it in community college ball you worthless pile of crap for a son. Well, now it's my turn. Dad, why can't you be more like Jamie Moyer? He's 50 and making millions/year still. I bet he bought his son a house, you toothless old bastard."
Then I'll hang up on him and think to myself "Thanks Jamie Moyer for making this moment possible, you are truly a great great man."

He's amazing. Tells your what good location can do. In my wood bat league we have lots of pitchers who can throw hard but those are the easy ones to hit. I have trouble with location pitchers. They don't make many mistakes
Not really, other than being TOO awesome, but I just take that one day at a time. With great power, comes great responsibility, that's what they tell me.
I agree ACS about the command pitchers. I love watching these pitchers throw smarter, not harder as they get older. It's such a mental game that takes years to try to perfect.

Can you please get that on video? Specifically the part where you're thinking to yourself? I'm hoping to see a healthy chin stroking...
Definitely one of the funnier threads I've read. Well done, chap!

It must have been 3 or 4 years ago, but I saw him pitch however many shutout innings against the Royals and kept thinking to myself "man, this guy is still doing it in his early 40's, that is crazy." And he's in his mid 40's, and still going. 50 or bust!
