He was a last minute scratch in today's game? Anyone know why? He's been a huge disappointment this year.

Cryptic...

Rollins was pulled from the Phillies' lineup for their afternoon contest against the Mets on Thursday, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Spin: An explanation for Rollins' unavailability has yet to surface. Eric Bruntlett will fill his vacancy at shortstop and in the leadoff spot in the lineup.

"We're not going to agree on this one," Rollins said. "I agreed with him last time but we're not going to agree on this one. I think he understood that and I understood it. But he's the manager, and he has to set a precendent and for certain players you are expected and held up to higher rules, and that's fine, that's part of it."

Higher rules? The other guys aren't expected to show up on time? Never mind it was against the Mets for first place.

Big sigh.Glad I'm not a Phillies fan.

This guy is lost in space. I hope he decides to take it out on the ball.

Ok so without any cheering/venting/love/hate emotions.... what's the deal with JRoll this year? Even calling 2007 a career year in power, he has the lowest BA, OBP and slugging he's had in over five years. That's drastically affecting his run scoring (even on a per AB basis). He just isn't the same hitter he's been for the last 5 years.

Has he not recovered from his early season injury? Is this just "one of those years" and you can chalk it up to luck and running cold? He's definitely not old enough for physical decline to be factored in, especially a guy with his stature who tends to last longer than a big guy. Any one have any insight or thoughts?

He is pissed at Manuel and just does not appeared to be focused at the plate. The stretch drive will cure him somewhat, but he is still bitter about being benched 2 times by Charlie.

What are you, his therapist? :-D

Seriously though, he's really making a case that his 06/07 seasons were huge outliers as to what you can expect from him on a yearly basis. It seems more likely that the 03-05 Rollins is the real one...unfortunately.
