Who would you draft?

Postby Guest » Wed Mar 03, 2004 3:58 pm

I am looking to draft a bat in the 9th round of my draft. I don't need a 1B, 3B, SS, or corner position. I have one outfield slot set. Here is my list of guys I am thinking about. Please rank them.

Jim Edmonds
Richard Hidalgo
Juan Gonzalez
Corey Patterson
Milton Bradley
Trot Nixon
Randy Winn
Larry Walker

Walker, then Edmonds, then a big dropoff.

Both will be dinged up all year, but will outproduce the rest of the list anyway. Walker gives a little more average, Edmonds a little more power.

I like Walker or Edmonds also. Which depends on your team needs. Also you may want to wait and fill a few more holes and then get Patterson...Who will be a very good sleeper pick.

Edmonds, but none of those guys seem likely for a 9th round pick

I also agree with Edmonds - he's a stud except for his unbelievable low RBI & Run totals. I think for the past 2 years he's the only guy with >950 OPS who drives in less than 100 runs and 100 RBIs. Even when he plays 150-160 games a year, he never seems to produce that way.

...must be that Pujolis...

DRaft Edmonds. He'll go through a real hot streak during the year, like he always does...enjoy for awhile and trade him b/c he does 2 things every year. Get real hot and get hurt.
