Question about Prior's Achilles

Postby jonnyblack » Wed Mar 03, 2004 1:09 pm

It has been documented that Prior achilles was bothering him at the end of last year. when he first came up, 2 years ago, they shut him down at the end of the season. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think it was because of an achilles. Does anyone know if this is accurate? If, so, this is starting to make me wonder. Recurring achilles problems for a power pitcher, is no good.

I am worried by that same article, however it makes the choice between Pedro and Prior a little more slanted to Pedro in my opinion. I am droping Prior in my draft order slightly.

I'm in Chicago and the papers are really talking about this (achilles diagrams)...this would worry me a bit.

If I'm not mistaken he was shut down in his first year after a hamstring injury. His Achilles was irritated late last year, but he was able to pitch through it and still be very effective. I'm not concerned.

im not worried, i hear that most of the time when achilles tear there are no warning signs, it just happens, so this is probably just because something happened and it will heal. also most achilles tear while running, so dont worry too much as he wont be doing a ton of that.
