How much does your "Day at the park" Cost You?

The last time I lived in a city with a major league team, it was free. Now, if you count the 6+ hours I'd have to drive to get there, it's going to be a little pricey.

I have no idea how you guys remember how much and at what prices you buy things, but for me to see a game at Shea or Yankee Stadium is generally about $130 - $140... more like $200 if I have the girlfriend in tow. Those are about 2nd or 3rd deck seats... it's about $50 more to sit field level. If I go to the Brooklyn Cyclones, though, it's more like $40 for the night.

I'll share my Wrigley Field story from back in '99 even though it wasn't my proudest day:

My friends and I drive to Chicago for the weekend to see the Twins v. Cubs and do some sightseeing. The tickets were 30 bucks or so back then for some back row lower level seats. But, we all really wanted to be Bleacher Bums and those were sold out. We went around to the various buildings scalping tickets to see if we could trade our tickets for some bleacher seats and maybe pay a few bucks more. No luck. We stop inside a 7-11 across from Wrigley to get something to drink and we see a guy scalping some tickets, and we ask them if they are bleacher seats and he says yeah. We trade our tix for those plus 20 bucks but are kind of worried we won't get in because they are scam tickets... but we really want to be in the bleachers. We go in and realize we have standing room only "seats" which are practically in the same area our original tickets were located but we can't sit down. Nice. It was still a pretty good time at the game and the weekend was fun. I still want to be a Bleacher Bum though.

Just wondering how cheap total you guys can get to a game for or the average amount you spend:

Ticket to Coorsfield: $4
Cheesteak to bring into the game: $4.99
Peanuts outside the stadium: $1
Water from outside the stadium: $1
Microbrew beer x3: 6.50 each = 19.50
Parking: Free (I know the secret spot PM me if you are in Denver)

So I can see a ball game with ticket/food/snacks/beer (x3)/and parking for:

30.49 cents! Subtract the beer and its only around 11 bucks or so!

Unless you can find a baller spot under the overpasses (under the overpasses...does that even make sense?!?!?), then you're stuck with 15 dollar parking...then, if you want to see a decent team like the Phils, minimum is $25 for an upperdeck seat. 7.50 for a beer. Then its like 9 bucks for chicken tenders. Then we got 4.50 each way on the Whitestone Bridge.

Basically, a Mets game will cost you at the very LEAST, 50 bucks...and thats if you don't get any food or drink. And then they just manage to break my heart anyway

I heading down to Denver in August and am planning on catching a Rockies game. Where is the free parking at, I figure if I'm gonna watch the Rockies play the Nats then they aught to be paying me. Sure hope the don't trade Holliday by then.
