Anaheim Angels: Adam Kennedy will hit ninth in Anaheim's batting order this season, below offseason additions Vladimir Guerrero and Jose Guillen.
Kennedy is a .279 career hitter who had 13 homers last season in 449 at-bats.
"With Adam hitting ninth, it gives us a little offense that's important with [David] Eckstein and [Darin] Erstad," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "That's a pretty good table of hitters for the middle of your lineup."
Even if he managed to put up the individual numbers he believes he's capable of, Kennedy figures he'd hit ninth anyway.
There was some speculation that Kennedy would bat 2nd, instead of Eckstein, boosting his runs and AB but it looks like it won't happen unless someone is injured.
