It's the shoulder.
http://www.nypost.com/seven/07212008/sp ... 120897.htmHe complains about not catching enough, catches a couple games and goes back on the dl. Thanks a bunch, Jorge.

yeah really. He wasn't really hitting that well anyway. What a waste of a draft pick.

O, how happy I'd be if either one was available.

Ditto,
Try spending $26 on Posada in an auction league, (at the begining of the year) in a 14 team league, where we start 2 catchers weekly!!!!

Is he going to be shut down for the year? I'm thinking about picking up Yadier Molina if this is true.

No word on that yet, but it's possible. He was going to have an MRI today. Hopefully the decision will come shortly.

The sooner the better. Sucks I drafted this guy a little higher than I should've. I'll take Yadier's .300+ average though off the wire if he is shut down though.

The Hartford Courant is reporting that Posada is "expected" to opt for surgery and will be done for the year.

But...that's why you never trust the Hartford Courant.

Posada said he'll try to rehab it and play as a 1b and dh (apparently Yankee stadium has 2 or 3 first bases). He won't catch the rest of the year, though obviously that doesn't matter for fantasy. He also said he could change his mind if the shoulder doesn't feel better in two weeks. Not the Hartford Courant:
