I am trying to figure this dude out. Is he the 260 hitter of '06 or the 290 hitter of '07.
When I read in march that he put on 15-20 lbs. I thought his power would increase but he would become around a 275 hitter but what is going on now is down right nasty.
Any thoughts?

I'll eat some crow. I hopped on the preseason Francoeur power bandwagon. Fortunately, so did another guy in my league and he paid way too much for him.
He's a very tough one to predict, because his numbers have been all over the place in his short career. Add to that all the hype he's received, and it's easy to see why there are so many different projections out there.
I'm going to be boring and say that as he matures, he'll settle in to some middle of the road (for fantasy starters, that is) numbers: 20-25 HR, 100ish RBI, 275 AVG.

Unless he radically changes his plate approach, I don't see him hitting above .270 anytime soon. He's still only 24, though, which gives him plenty of time to work on that hitting attitude, and if he matures in regards to plate patience and selective hitting, he might turn into a top 10-15 OF in a few years.
And "step forward"? kingmike needs to review his Eminem lyrics.

I'm very glad I avoided him in my OPS leagues. An outfielder who actually hurts you in that category and does not steal bases is pretty much useless.
With a .232 11HR 59R 63RBI in 513ab season, Frenchy has fallen far short of our 30HR expectations. While he will still be young going into next season, how do you perceive his long term value? I have held onto him all season letting him rot on my bench in my dynasty league, but now that some interesting Sept callups are available, I am wondering if it is even worth it. A .260 25HR season doesn't seem all that valuable to me. What do you guys expect?
honestly, im surprised he didnt crash earlier. ive been avoiding him since he first came up due to his terrible BB rate. i havent seen him play much this season, but im guessing he is chasing a lot of bad pitches and that pitchers are throwing him junk because of it. braves fans, is this whats happening?
I don't know what's happening with him other than he's stinking up the joint. I wouldn't bother hanging on to him for any reason at this point. Plenty of young OF out there who are more than capable of matching and exceeding Frenchy's ceiling next year. Drafted him and Hamilton back to back 10th and 11th rounds thinking I got the steals of the draft. At least I was right on one of them....
