Players Tailor Made for other Ballparks

Postby acsguitar » Thu Jul 17, 2008 2:23 pm

So I thought it would be interesting to suggest where some players would fit in Ballpark wise.

For example I think Matt Holliday would absolutely rake in Yankee Stadium or Fenway due to the tight confines of both parks and Hollidays ability to hit HUGE fly balls and laser beam line drives (Often to right field).

Or Ichiro in Coors field. A: He could actually cover all that ground with his speed and throwing and alot of his dump in singles could be doubles due to Coors Fields size.

Josh Hamilton- anywhere.

With his showing the other night he could be a best anywhere, from San Diego to where he is now in Texas.

I've always thought of, "what if Adrian Gonzalez played on another ballpark other than Petco... How may home runs would he actually hit in a season?" Just imagine him playing on a park like Wrigley, Great American, etc...

Mark Teixeira at Yankee Stadium. His swing and the short porch in right field would be beyond unfair.

I honestly think Kinsler would be better in Houston then he is in Arlington.

The crawford boxes are made to give kinsler 35 HR, and its still a general hitters park. Kinsler has hit exactly 0 HRs to Arlingtons right-center jet stream, wasting the parks best factor.

edit: fenway works too.

Joe Mauer would put up ridiculous numbers in Fenway i believe. He hits tons of fly balls to left field that normally land just inside of the warning track at the dome; i can just picture him banking doubles off the monster routinely. I remember reading about this same thing happening with ortiz when he first came over, except with Mauer, he hits almost everything to left field.
