Rumor: Bonds-Yankees Deal Imminent

As a die hard Yankee fan, I have mixed feelings. With Matsui gone, Bonds is a low risk short term potential fix. His plate approach fits perfectly with the Yankees lineup. On the other hand, based on his age and no playing time at all this year, will he produce?

Finally, I think there is some other baggage he would bring to the team.

I just am not sure. But as a Yankee fan, I guess the pluses outweigh the minuses.

As someone who despises Bonds I will not be a hypocrit and root for him on the yankees. If bonds is a yankee I cannot root for them. Why don't they just make a play for Holliday.

Yeah, I question that source as well. But if it proves to be true, I can't say I'm against this move like I was before the season started. With Giambi showing he can handle everyday firstbase duties and Matsui hurt, it is at this point the best baseball move. As for his baggage, this at least would get people to shut the hell up about A-Rod's personal/social life for a while.

Although the times I've read Phil Mushnick, he's actually been pretty entertaining. I think the Post leaves him in there as a decoy.
