He's on the FA and might be a good pick up?

I'd say Dye is a decent sleeper pick... He was just abysmal last year, but the A's are really confident that he will rebound this year (and they really need him to). I wouldn't fork over too much for him though, if you aren't risking anything in your mind then I might take a chance, but there might be better outfield options...

Probably not in any mixed league, but it would depend on who is on your team and who else is available.

funny you ask that cuz i was dealt cruz jr on autodraft in the late rounds. i then remembered about dye and looked him up and because he was ranked soo low in yahoos rankings, NOONE even looked at him. i replaced cruz with dye to answer your question, he is in his contract year and knows he has to perform to carry the A's.

i predict 30HR, 100 RBI, .280.

I don't know if Dye CAN perform any more. He sure hasn't proven able to perform since hurting his shin and he had every reason to perform last year down during the pennant race.

I'd be inclined to stick with Cruz although my hopes for him aren't great either.

he came off that shoulder injury like a afew weeks before the postseason, and got minimal at bats leading up to it. he's the kind of player that needs to settle in.....the triple A pitching he was seeing beforehand sure wasnt gonna help him that much. expect a clean start from him now.
