News: Hideki Matsui's left knee swelled, increasing the possibility he will need season-ending surgery. General manager Brian Cashman said Tuesday that Matsui was running out of options to rehabilitate his knee, which has sidelined him since June 22 and kept him from playing the outfield since June 15. Matsui will travel to New York from the team's complex in Tampa, Fla., and is expected to be examined by team doctors Friday. His return this season appears increasingly unlikely.
Analysis: It doesn't look like Godzilla will be back for Fantasy Week 16 (July 17-20), so feel free to continue to leave him on your bench. Matsui is batting .323 with seven homers and 34 RBI in 69 games this season. He had been fairly healthy up until this latest injury and remains a must-start Fantasy option when healthy. Continue to track his progress, however, as of now the chances of him being back playing for the Yankees this season grow smaller by the day.
what are everybody's thoughts on him for the 2nd half?
