Who has better value the rest of this year and why?
1) Morneau or Teixeira
2) Markakis or JD Drew

1) Teixeira for his very consistent post break awesomeness
2) tough, but probably markakis. id project fairly similar batting stats, but with less risk of injury and a nice speed chip in.

Real or perceived?
I honestly think they are completely opposite in this case. I could see (and think) morneau and drew could outproduce the other two, but tex and markakis have the trade value.
Although, I am not saying it will be the case. Drew when healthy is a major talent. Morneau seems to get the shaft.

teixeira has averaged 20 HRs and 65 rbis post all star break the past 3 years.
morneau 10 HRs and 43 rbis.
fluke? maybe, but im not betting against it.

Rest of 08 I'd go with Teixeira and Markakis.

Defiantly Teixeira and probably Markakis, it's hard to trust Drew.
Go Braves!

Morneau has been notoriously streaky the last 2 years and was terrible in '05 (part of your split) so I'm hesitant to much weight into his splits. But because he has been streaky and tex has a longer, better track record the choice is easily Tex. That's not to say that Morneau can't outproduce Tex, but rather that he could go into a 2 month funk where it is painful to start him.
And yes to Markakis compared to Drew.
