Amazinz wrote:And lastly, I think the Yankees fans in attendance are boobs for booing Papelbon. If you don't care about the outcome why the heck did you go to the game? And if you do care about the outcome then how do you do that to "your" team. I realize it's not completely the same but I have no problem rooting for Chipper or Utley or whoever during the All-Star game.

Why do you need to care about the outcome if you attend? If I were to attend the game, the outcome would have been one of the last things that would have attracted me. You can't appreciate the atmosphere? The best players in baseball? All the Hall of Famers on the field?? The fact that this is one of your final chances to visit what is arguably the most historic ballpark in baseball history??

All of those things are bigger draws to me than whether the AL or NL wins. It doesn't much matter to me. I think the whole "it counts" premise is silly. Of course I'd rather the AL win, but that is hardly something that's going to prevent me from booing a guy like Papelbon, who I cannot stand.

I hope he flips off the fans next time he is NY or say something like Rocker did. That would be fun.

Wrong again, he never blew the lead. The game was tied up at 2-2 when Papelbon came in.

There was no blown save by Paps. Wagner was the only reliever that blew a save.

Oh I would have let the boo's fly! It would've been so awesome to be there and here here? that. I could care less who wins that game last night. Homefield advantage probably would've gone to the team with the best record anyways right?

Correct. If there was a way to keep wannabe baseball fans and the suits out of the park and let the kids and the real fans in, I'd be all for it.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Strange that he didn't start the game and came out of the bullpen. I usually call that a reliever ;-D
