Why isn't Utley in the linup today?

sometimes players get a day off. anytime a lefty faces RJ it's a good time for a breather.

There's nothing to worry about. He hasn't faired well against Johnson in his career, and this is the reason for the day off.

If you play Yahoo, they put a ^ if the player is in and a x if he's not. Just check 1/2 hr before gametime...

I don't know if other providers do this.

Oh. This is the first time I've noticed Utley not in the lineup. I wish I had a way of knowing when regular players are taking a day off.

Right. Cholly just wanted to give him a day to rest since he's participating in the HR Derby and the ASG. What better time to sit than vs. a tough lefty who he doesn't hit very well.
